This project tote was designed by Amy Hutton of BedHogShop. This tote makes the perfect project bag for crafts. The pattern includes two exterior designs to choose from and there’s loads of pockets for your crochet or knitting tools. A yarn feeder and ring loop are also included. Of course, you can easily adjust the pockets to your needs and use it as a general tote bag, or it also makes a pretty good beach bag! We recommend this as a beginner pattern.
Fabric Recommendations:
Cotton is our favourite fabric for making this bag. Sturdier fabrics such as leather, flexible vinyl and cork are good for the bottom section of the horizontal style, or the centre of the vertical style, but aren’t recommended for the entire top section of the bag as you want it to easily fold down when using the bag for crafts.
Finished size:
12″ tall x 12-17″ wide x 6″ deep (30cm x 30-43cm x 15cm). The width is narrower at the bottom and wider at the top
Bag features:
- Interior pockets designed for crafts such as crochet and knitting
- Zip closure to keep the contents secure
- Two exterior design choices included
- Folds down for easy access when in use
- Perfect for a project bag

I love this bag. I have made two Yarnbomers; vertical and horizontal styles. One for my knitting and one to put my small sewing projects in. The bag was easy to make and quick to put together. Thanks Jo!

I love it when Bed Hog Shop and Country Cow Designs work together. This is such a well thought out pattern and works so well for me to be able to take my crochet to my children’s football.

Thanks. What a great idea!

I am a beginner. Like, April 2023 new. Sewing bags has quickly become a therapeutic and fun process for me. Firstly, the video companion to these patterns is so great! The pattern is written well, but for someone new like me, the video is a great addition. This bag was so fun to make and pretty simple. I made this bag as a gift for my mother in law. She absolutely loved it! It’s so easy to adapt the pattern to suit different functions. Love that it’s versatile and you have 2 built in options of vertical or horizontal on the outside of the bag. Can’t wait to make another one for myself!

Thanks for making this bag. Welcome to the world of sewing bags.

Fantastic pattern, great instructions. I made one as a gift for a friend who knits and crochets on the go. It’s perfect and she loves it. This was the first Country Cow pattern I’d made, but it definitely won’t be the last
