Visit Us

If you want to visit us in person, our little shop is based within Nansledan, a new community on the outskirts of the town of Newquay in Cornwall.  You can find out more information about Nansledan here https://nansledan.com/

We have free parking directly opposite the shop and are accessible for wheelchair users.

If you’re visiting us from afar, we’re only a small shop but if you’d like to make a day trip, there are many beautiful places to see nearby and further afield in Cornwall, so we thought we’d suggest a few of our favourite places. Do check these out yourself on Google, to check distances, opening times and reviews/whether it’s something you’d enjoy, as we’re all different!

Our shop is open 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays. If you're visiting from afar and need to visit us outside of these times, you can email us and ask: shop@countrycowdesigns.com. If we can be open when you're here, we'll try. We strive to always be open during our opening hours, but we are just a small family run business and occasionally emergencies crop up, so feel free to email us and double check we're open if you want to be 100% sure.

Beaches Nearby (some of these are dog friendly too, but check before hand if you're planning a dog walk. Also beware of traffic in the summer. Head to the beach for 9am if you want to miss the worst of the queues and ensure a parking space):

Lusty Glaze (has a paying car park at the top, but there are lots of steps down to the beach)
Watergate Bay
(has a paying car park and a slope)
Tolcarne Beach
(central Newquay, no car park and lots of steps down to the beach)
Fistral Beach
(has a paying car park on the North side of the beach, with no steps, or you can sometimes get on road parking on the South side, but this side does have lots of steps)
Crantock Beach
(National Trust paying car park, a short walk is involved)
Perranporth Beach
(has a paying car park, no steps and easy access)
Holywell Bay Beach
(National Trust paying car park but it is a bit of a walk onto the beach) – Poldark fans will recognise this one

Driving in Cornwall
Cornwall has some interesting roads, many of which are single track lanes with high hedges and few passing spaces. Google maps will often recommend these roads as quicker alternatives. However, if you're not confident reversing down narrow lanes, then be sure to avoid any roads that state "not suitable for heavy goods vehicles" or feature a circular sign with a truck in the centre. On these roads you will regularly need to reverse back to a passing space after meeting a car coming the other way.

Best times to visit Cornwall
If you can, try to visit Cornwall in May or June. That tends to be the time when the weather is best, the wind is at it's lowest, and it's not quite as busy. During the school holidays in July and August, Cornwall gets very busy and the weather is often stuffy with showers. Bear in mind that Cornwall is a peninsula sticking out into the Atlantic so our weather tends to be wetter and windier than most of the UK, but the scenery is incredible and, in our opinion, well worth a visit.
