2026 Pattern Challenge

It's a new year of pattern challenges!

Every other month in 2026 we're encouraging our Facebook group to try a bag pattern by a different designer.

At the beginning of each month we announce the chosen pattern in our Facebook group and (where possible) share a discount code. Everyone will share their progress and tips throughout the month. You can join the Facebook group here and see the featured posts for details of the current challenge. You don't have to subscribe or pay anything to take part. If you want to join, you just need to purchase the pattern for that month directly from the designer.

At the end of each month we'll post a photo of our finished bag and everyone taking part will share a photo in the Facebook group.

January's Challenge

We're starting the year off with a bang! This month's challenge is the Annika convertible bag by Leenek Studio. I made mine without the smaller front pocket as I didn't want to detract from the exciting fabric print I was using.

"My name is Leene and I am from Estonia. I found bagmaking on YouTube in 2020 and started learning how to make bags myself. I just needed to make myself a grocery bag but I fell in love with bagmaking and the community around it really quickly and after a while I wanted to also try my hand at pattern writing. Seeing how much work it is I have so much respect for people who do this full time."
