As indicated by the name, this is a no sew pattern constructed entirely with rivets. It’s a quick and simple bag to make. We recommend using genuine leather for this pattern as it’s unlined and has lots of raw edges. If you want to, you can finish your raw edges using edge paint for chrome tan leather, or by burnishing the edges of veg tan leather. This bag quickly comes together, creating a luxurious looking tote that will make you want to use leather in all your bag making projects.
What about using vinyl or faux leather? We recommend using genuine leather for this pattern as the edges can be left raw and still look fantastic. Genuine leather is usually available in thicker varieties which is more suitable for this bag. You may struggle to find vinyl that is suitable for the straps, without having to back it. You’ll also find that leather will wear better with use, particularly on the raw edges where the base meets the side.
Fabric Recommendations:
5oz [1.6mm]+ Veg tan leather OR 6oz [2mm]+ Chrome tan leather: 31 1/2” x 21” [80cm x 54cm] – SEE THE IMAGE REGARDING SUITABLE LEATHER THICKNESS/DRAPE – Cork/Vinyl/Faux Leather is not recommended due to drape
Finished size:
13″ high x 13″ wide x 5″ deep (33cm h x 33cm w x 13cm d)

As soon as I saw this pattern I knew I had to have it. I didn’t have any leather suitable and being very impatient, I used some 3mm felt from my stash. Well wow! it worked a treat. I can’t wait to get some leather to be able to make this as intended. But for now I will certainly be making more in the felt. People that saw it loved it. Great pattern. Thank you 😊

The first one was a bit hard on my hands, rivets were a bit fiddly to fit but soon got the hang of it. Great pattern and really no sewing involved. Have had a side of leather around for ages not knowing what to use it for, this pattern was made for it, I now have two fabulous tote bags. A good piece of leather and a handful of rivets and away you go. One of the best patterns I’ve ever come across.

Great pattern – it was a challenge but that was because I used a thick leather and my rivet press has quite a small throat. I ended up setting a few of the rivets manually but it still worked really well. Will definitely be making more of these bags

I LOVE this pattern easy to make , a bit tricky with the rivet setting, but followed Adam’s video tutorial a few times and I got it for the next many bags to be made from this pattern. Another thing that made me very happy is the HELP I got when asking questions. I will finally have my bag finished this coming week when I get my die cutters from Adam’s recommended seller after I bought and RETURNED a cheap set from another seller.THANKS for a well written pattern. People get the acrylic template set too , that is suggested, makes a it so much easier to cut out.
