Fabric Recommendations:
Due to the small size of this bag, a clutch wallet pattern, I recommend quilting cotton for everything except the flap. If your sewing machine can handle a lot of layers then you can consider thicker materials, but this may result in bulky looking seams. For a really neat finish and a fun sew, I recommend quilting cotton for the exterior and lining fabrics. Alternatively, a lightweight (200gsm) waterproof fabric would work well for the exterior.
Finished size:
6″ tall x 8 1/4″ wide 1″ deep (15cm x 21cm x 2.5cm)
Bag features:
- Slip pocket under the front flap
- Flap closure
- Sides expand for easy access
- 12 card slots and 3 spaces for notes and receipts
- Interior zip pocket for coins
- Space for a standard mobile phone
- Detachable, adjustable crossbody strap or wrist strap

When I first saw the Lemonza Clutch I knew I wanted it. I was a little overwhelmed with all the pattern pieces and directions and I’ve been sewing bags for over 10 years. I jumped right in and was surprised how fast and easy everything went together! There will definitely be more in my future. Thanks for a well designed and written pattern!
Jo Kay (Country Cow Designs) –
That means a lot, thanks

Where do I even start? First of all, your video was so helpful and did everything but choose my fabrics and sew it up for me. It was an easy sew. I love the unique way you have put this together. I love all the pockets and card slots in a light weight package, a very versatile piece. I used Tim Holtz cotton fabric with a duck cloth flap and trim.
I posted my finished Lemonza Clutch on Facebook on the Creative Bag Makers page and on Fireweed Stitches and Barb’s Got Interfacing and got so many wonderful comments. I am now going to try the Lemonza in faux leather then leather. Thank you Jo and Adam!
