This is the perfect project for your first ever sew. It's simple, quick and results in a useful bag to use around the house. Since it will never leave the house, it doesn't matter if your stitching is a little wonky or it has imperfections, because no-one outside your house will ever see it!

I use one of these as a laundry bag and another to store my recycling (here in Cornwall, we have to clean our recycling out so something like this is perfect for storing it until recycling day).

A domestic sewing machine, a universal size 75/11 needle, some pins or wonder clips, fabric scissors or rotary cutter, quilting ruler, cutting mat, seam ripper (just in case), a fabric marker such as a heat erasable pen or tailors chalk.

Downloading the pattern:
We work hard to keep our website safe and secure. All our patterns are uploaded to the website free of malicious content (obviously), and we have high end security on our website to prevent attacks from outside forces. We use a fantastic and reputable local company to manage the security of our website. However secure a website is though, there is always a risk that it can be hacked (as proven by some of the biggest companies in the world being hacked in recent years). If criminals hack into a website, they may manage to embed malicious content into a website and its files, without the owners knowledge. It's also possible for PDF files to become infected/corrupted once they are on your device, in your possession, which is completely out of our control. For that reason, we ask that you also take precautions before and after downloading a pattern, just to be extra safe.

Make sure you download your files using a device that has up-to-date security software. Scan all downloaded files before opening them. Open PDF files using a reputable reader that checks the file for viruses before opening, such as Adobe Reader.

By downloading this PDF sewing pattern, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with digital downloads, including but not limited to, potential malware or viruses. It is your responsibility to ensure your device has up-to-date security software and to scan all downloaded files before opening.

Making the bag:
To make this bag you’ll need to use various tools/equipment. You should only use tools that are well maintained and that you are competent using. I recommend reading and following the safety instructions provided by the manufacturer of each tool.

This pattern does not include safety precautions for the use of tools, so you are responsible for the safe use of any tools you use. If in doubt, seek guidance from an experienced professional of the tools you are using or contact the manufacturer directly. You are responsible for ensuring that you have a safe and suitable working environment.

The instructions in this pattern are suggestions only and you are responsible for ensuring that you can carry out the suggestions safely without causing injury or harm to yourself or others. You are also responsible for ensuring that your sewing machine and other equipment are capable of carrying out the suggestions. I cannot be held accountable for damage caused because the tools used are unsuitable.
