RETURNS
NOT HAPPY WITH SOMETHING?
It’s important to us that you’re happy with your purchase, but if for any reason you’re not happy with your products simply email us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com within 14 days of receiving your package and request a return. Or you can send us a Whatsapp message +447518142548. This is your “right of withdrawal”. Items must be returned at your expense, within 30 days of receipt for a full refund. We recommend that you obtain proof of postage or tracking when returning your items as we can’t guarantee receipt of your order.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. The simplest way to provide this is to reply to the original order confirmation email. To qualify for a refund, your products must be returned unused and in a re-saleable condition. Once we’ve inspected the returned items, we’ll refund you within 14 days. The refund will be processed to the same payment source used for purchase. In certain circumstances, we will only grant a partial refund. This includes where any item is not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error, or any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.

When you cancel or return your order, we incur costs that are not refunded to us such as payment processing fees and postage costs. As a small business, these costs negatively impact us so please check measurements and read product details thoroughly before purchasing. If you have any questions before ordering, feel free to send us an email.

If you haven’t received a refund when expected, we recommend contacting your bank or credit card provider. Please bear in mind, it can take several days for your bank to process the refund and show it in your account.
If you’ve done this and you still have not received your refund 7 working days after you were notified of your refund, please contact us.

DAMAGED, FAULTY OR MISSING ITEMS?
If you think you’ve received an item that’s damaged, faulty, or otherwise incorrect, please contact us straight away by emailing us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com with a photo and description of the fault. We will get back to you within 48 hours to resolve the issue (usually quicker).

If we’ve sent you the wrong item, we’ll let you keep it at no cost, and we'll also send you the correct item.

If you believe an item is missing, please check the packaging thoroughly and unpack your entire order. We like to do our bit to help the planet and that means reducing packaging and space. To achieve this, we often roll items within each other. For example, if you’ve ordered 2 x 1 metre cuts of zip tape and 1 metre of webbing, we’ll roll them together in one bag. If your order is completely unpacked and you’re certain an item is missing, please email us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com.
IMPORTANT PRODUCT SAFETY INFORMATION
Product Name: Thread Scissors (also known as Thread Snips, Snippers, Yarn Snips)
Intended Use: Specifically designed for precision cutting of thread, yarn, small fabric scraps, and similar light materials in sewing, quilting, embroidery, bag making, and other crafting projects.
Target User: Adult consumers of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced crafters.
Product Description: A small, handheld cutting tool typically featuring two short, sharp blades pivoted together, often with a spring-loaded action for easy use. Designed for quick and precise snips. Materials generally include stainless steel blades and plastic or metal handles.

Hazards: Thread scissors, by their nature as cutting tools, present inherent physical hazards. Proper handling and storage are crucial to mitigate these risks. This product is designed to be safe under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use. Risks are primarily physical, stemming from the sharp edges and points of the blades.

- Cuts / Puncture Wounds:
The primary hazard. The extremely sharp blades and pointed tips can cause accidental cuts or puncture wounds to fingers, hands, or other body parts during handling, use, cleaning, or storage. This can lead to pain, bleeding, and potential infection.

- Choking Hazard (for young children/vulnerable adults/pets): Due to their small size, thread scissors (especially smaller models) can be a choking hazard if ingested by infants, toddlers, or pets. While not primarily designed for children, improper storage increases this risk.

- Eye Injury: During use, if the scissors slip or spring back unexpectedly, the sharp blades or points could potentially cause eye injury if brought too close to the face. Fragments of material being cut could also become projectiles if the blades are used incorrectly or are dull.

- Pinching/Crushing: For spring-loaded snips, there is a minor risk of pinching fingers within the handle mechanism during use, especially for those with larger hands or during rapid use.

- Blade Damage / Breaking: If used on materials thicker or harder than intended (e.g., wire, heavy fabric, plastic sheets), the blades can become dull, nicked, bent, or even break, creating uneven or sharp edges and reducing effectiveness. Broken fragments could potentially become projectiles.

- Wound Infection: Any cut or puncture wound, if not properly cleaned and cared for, can become infected by bacteria from the skin or environment, leading to redness, swelling, pain, pus, and in severe cases, systemic infection (e.g., tetanus if vaccination is not up to date).

--------------------------------------------------------

To ensure the safe use of thread scissors and minimize associated risks, adhere to the following recommendations:

Always Handle with Care: Assume the blades are always sharp. Exercise extreme caution when handling, using, cleaning, or retrieving the scissors. Store scissors in a safe, designated place when not in use, such as a scissor case, a drawer with a protective cover, or a magnetic strip where blades are covered. Keep out of reach of children, vulnerable adults and pets at all times. Store with blades closed or with a protective cap/sheath if provided.

Never Leave Unattended: Do not leave scissors lying open or carelessly on a work surface where they could be knocked off or grabbed by a child/pet.

Pass Safely: If passing scissors to another person, always pass them with the handles first, ensuring the blades are closed (if possible) or facing away from the receiver's hand.

Clear Workspace: Maintain a clear, well-lit, and organized crafting area to prevent accidental contact with the blades.

Intended Use Only: Use thread scissors only for their intended purpose: cutting thread, yarn, and light fabrics. Do NOT use them for paper, cardboard, wire, plastic, or other materials that could dull or damage the blades.

Keep Fingers Clear: Always keep your non-cutting hand and fingers well clear of the blade path.

Control Your Cut: Cut away from your body. Avoid cutting towards yourself or others.

Inspect Before Use: Before each use, quickly inspect the blades for any damage, nicks, or looseness. Do not use damaged scissors.

Use with Good Lighting: Ensure adequate lighting in your workspace to clearly see what you are cutting.

Steady Surface: Use scissors on a stable surface or while holding the material firmly to prevent slipping.

Maintain Sharpness: Dull blades can be more dangerous than sharp ones as they require more force to cut, increasing the risk of slipping. Sharpen or replace scissors when they become dull.

Clean Carefully: Clean blades with a soft, dry cloth. If stubborn residue is present, use a damp cloth, then thoroughly dry immediately to prevent rust.

Lubrication: Occasionally apply a small drop of machine oil to the pivot point to maintain smooth action.

Dispose Safely: When scissors are no longer usable (dull, broken, rusted), dispose of them safely. Wrap them securely in thick cardboard or tape, place them in a puncture-proof container (e.g., a sturdy plastic bottle or metal tin), and dispose of according to local waste disposal guidelines for sharps or metal. Do NOT place directly in general waste.

--------------------------------------------

In case of accidental injury:

Minor Cuts / Puncture Wounds: Clean the Wound: Immediately wash the injured area thoroughly with soap and warm water for several minutes. Apply Pressure: If bleeding, apply gentle, direct pressure with a clean cloth or sterile gauze until bleeding stops. Disinfect: Apply an antiseptic solution or wipe to the wound. Cover: Cover the wound with a clean, sterile bandage. Monitor for Infection: Watch closely for signs of infection (redness, swelling, increased pain, warmth, pus, fever). If any signs appear or if the wound is deep, large, or doesn't stop bleeding, consult a medical professional immediately. Tetanus: Ensure your tetanus vaccination is up to date.

Eye Injury: If a blade or fragment enters the eye, do NOT rub the eye. Seek immediate emergency medical attention.

Ingestion (Choking): If a child or pet is choking on the scissors, follow standard first aid procedures for choking. Seek immediate emergency medical attention.
