The Idexa Pouch doesn’t require a lot of fabric so it’s great for using up your fat quarters and scraps. It offers a variety of options designed to incorporate and teach various bag making techniques, giving you an opportunity to try something new. You can use various materials, different interfacing types and change and remove the pockets.
The pattern is designed to help beginners develop their bag making skills so be warned, it’s not as simple as most pouch patterns. The topstitching in particular is challenging but a great new skill to learn.
There’s no binding and the pouch is birthed through the zip pocket – or the lining if you don’t want a zip pocket. You can use just woven interfacing, or you can add either fleece or foam for a sturdier pouch.
Finished size: 6″ tall x 7 1/2″ wide x 2″ deep.
Skill level: Beginner looking to learn new skills

Really love this pouch pattern. Have made a few now and love how much you can customise each one to be different and add or remove options. The instructions are perfectly written and easy to follow.

Love this pattern and the end result. Even though I am just starting to sew with very mixed results, I managed to make this and am proud of and happy with this pouch. I intend to make another with different materials. I hope to improve with each one. Many thanks for the really good instructions and the free pattern. I really love your designs.

I love this pattern! I like the solid base, and the front pockets, and the optional zip pocket. That said, the method used to install the zipper was awkward at best. Perhaps attaching the base could be done after the zipper placement? Also, if using fleece, all of the basting (the fleece, the sides of the front exterior and the zipper, was messy. It became almost impossible to remove the basting to clear the fleece from the seam allowances. Fusible foam recommended! Thank you for this pattern! I learned a lot and will use it again!
