RETURNS
NOT HAPPY WITH SOMETHING?
It’s important to us that you’re happy with your purchase, but if for any reason you’re not happy with your products simply email us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com within 14 days of receiving your package and request a return. Or you can send us a Whatsapp message +447518142548. This is your “right of withdrawal”. Items must be returned at your expense, within 30 days of receipt for a full refund. We recommend that you obtain proof of postage or tracking when returning your items as we can’t guarantee receipt of your order.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. The simplest way to provide this is to reply to the original order confirmation email. To qualify for a refund, your products must be returned unused and in a re-saleable condition. Once we’ve inspected the returned items, we’ll refund you within 14 days. The refund will be processed to the same payment source used for purchase. In certain circumstances, we will only grant a partial refund. This includes where any item is not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error, or any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.

When you cancel or return your order, we incur costs that are not refunded to us such as payment processing fees and postage costs. As a small business, these costs negatively impact us so please check measurements and read product details thoroughly before purchasing. If you have any questions before ordering, feel free to send us an email.

If you haven’t received a refund when expected, we recommend contacting your bank or credit card provider. Please bear in mind, it can take several days for your bank to process the refund and show it in your account.
If you’ve done this and you still have not received your refund 7 working days after you were notified of your refund, please contact us.

DAMAGED, FAULTY OR MISSING ITEMS?
If you think you’ve received an item that’s damaged, faulty, or otherwise incorrect, please contact us straight away by emailing us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com with a photo and description of the fault. We will get back to you within 48 hours to resolve the issue (usually quicker).

If we’ve sent you the wrong item, we’ll let you keep it at no cost, and we'll also send you the correct item.

If you believe an item is missing, please check the packaging thoroughly and unpack your entire order. We like to do our bit to help the planet and that means reducing packaging and space. To achieve this, we often roll items within each other. For example, if you’ve ordered 2 x 1 metre cuts of zip tape and 1 metre of webbing, we’ll roll them together in one bag. If your order is completely unpacked and you’re certain an item is missing, please email us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com.
IMPORTANT PRODUCT SAFETY INFORMATION

Product : Quilting Cotton Fabric (100% Cotton, woven)
Intended Use: Primarily for quilting projects, bag making, apparel, home décor, and various other sewing and crafting applications.
Target User: Consumers of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced quilters and sewers.
Product Description: A plain-weave fabric made from 100% cotton fibers, known for its stable weave, consistent quality, and suitability for machine and hand sewing. Available in a vast array of prints and solid colors.

Hazards: While quilting cotton fabric is generally considered a low-risk product, certain hazards can arise, particularly related to its material properties and interaction with other substances. This product is designed to be safe under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, presenting only minimum risks compatible with its function as a textile material. Risks are primarily related to flammability, dye properties, and potential for small fabric particles.

- Thermal Hazard/Flammability: Cotton is a combustible material and will ignite and burn when exposed to an open flame or high heat source. While not inherently highly flammable in its common form, loose threads or fine dust can ignite more easily. Fabric treated with certain finishes (not typical for quilting cotton) could alter flammability.

- Dye Transfer / Colour Crocking: Dyes used in cotton fabrics can sometimes bleed or transfer to other fabrics, skin, or surfaces, especially when wet, exposed to high heat (e.g., ironing), or with excessive friction. This is more common with highly saturated or dark colors (e.g., reds, deep blues). While generally not a health hazard, it can cause staining of other materials.
- Material Allergies / Sensitization: While 100% cotton is generally considered hypoallergenic, some individuals may have sensitivities or allergic reactions to the cotton fibers themselves, or more commonly, to residual processing chemicals, dyes, or finishes used in manufacturing. This could manifest as skin irritation upon prolonged contact. if you experience skin Irritation/Allergic Reaction, discontinue contact with the fabric. Wash the affected skin thoroughly with mild soap and water. If irritation persists or worsens, consult a medical professional.
- Small Fibers / Lint: Cutting and sewing cotton fabric generates small fibers and lint. For individuals with respiratory sensitivities (e.g., asthma, allergies), inhaling excessive lint can cause respiratory irritation. Lint can also accumulate in sewing machines, requiring regular cleaning.
- Dust / Small Particles: Over time, fabric can shed small dust particles. While usually benign, for highly sensitive individuals, this could contribute to respiratory or eye irritation. If you experience respiratory irritation (due to lint/dust), move to a well-ventilated area or go outdoors for fresh air. If symptoms persist or worsen, or if breathing becomes difficult, seek medical attention.
- Needle Damage / Sewing Machine Strain: While generally easy to sew, extremely dense weaves, or sewing through many layers of quilting cotton, especially when combined with batting or interfacing, can put strain on domestic sewing machines, potentially leading to needle breakage, bent needles, or skipped stitches.
- Choking Hazard (for young children/vulnerable adults/pets): While fabric itself is not typically a choking hazard for older individuals, small, cut scraps of fabric, especially if improperly stored, could pose a choking risk if ingested by very young children or pets. This is a low likelihood risk if standard safety practices for crafting materials are followed.

-----------------------------------------------

To ensure the safe use of quilting cotton fabric and minimize associated risks, adhere to the following recommendations:
Store Safely: Store fabrics in a clean, dry area, away from direct heat sources, open flames, and out of reach of young children and pets.
Clear Workspace: Maintain a clear, well-lit, and organized crafting area to prevent accidents.
Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area to minimize inhalation of fabric dust and lint, especially if you have respiratory sensitivities. Consider using a fan or working near an open window.
Dust Control: Regularly clean your sewing area and machine to remove accumulated fabric dust and lint. Using a vacuum with a HEPA filter can be beneficial.
Pre-washing (Optional but Recommended): While many quilters do not pre-wash, doing so can: Minimize dye bleeding/transfer (especially for dark or vibrant colors). Preshrink the fabric, preventing future shrinkage in finished projects. Remove residual manufacturing chemicals that could cause skin sensitivities. Always test a small swatch for colorfastness before washing large amounts or mixing with other fabrics.
Sharp Tools: Use sharp fabric scissors or a rotary cutter with a self-healing mat for clean, precise cuts. Dull tools can lead to frayed edges.
Needle Selection: Use the appropriate sewing machine needle for cotton fabric. A universal needle is often suitable, but for thicker layers or dense weaves, consider a sharp needle (e.g., "Microtex" or "Quilting" needle). Replace needles frequently to prevent damage to the fabric or machine.
Ironing: Use the recommended heat setting for cotton fabric (usually high heat with steam). Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first, especially with new or unfamiliar fabrics, to ensure dye stability and prevent scorching. If you experience minor burns (from iron/heat), cool Immediately: Cool the burn rapidly with cool (not cold or ice) running water for at least 10-20 minutes. Seek Medical Attention: For any thermal burn, especially if severe or covering a large area, seek immediate medical attention.
Moisture Control: Be mindful of dye transfer if working with wet fabric on light-coloured surfaces or other fabrics, especially with darker hues.
Respiratory Protection (for sensitive individuals): If you have severe respiratory allergies or asthma and are working with large quantities of fabric, consider wearing a simple dust mask to reduce lint inhalation.
Washing Finished Projects: Follow care instructions for finished projects, especially those combining different fabric colours. For quilts, initial washes in cool water with a colour catcher sheet can help absorb any residual loose dye.
Safe Disposal of Scraps: Dispose of small fabric scraps in a secure container, out of reach of young children and pets, to prevent choking hazards.
