IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION:

Product Identification & Scope
Product Name: Small Plastic Hardware for Bag Making
Product Type: Non-food consumer articles for crafting and accessory creation.
Intended Use: For the assembly and decoration of textile or leather bags, purses, and similar accessories by adult consumers.

Identified Risks & Mitigation Measures
The primary risks associated with small metal hardware are mechanical hazards, particularly concerning ingestion and injury.

- Choking Hazard:
Small parts, such as individual rivets, D-rings, or components of swivel hooks, can be a severe choking hazard if swallowed, especially by young children. During use always keep small hardware out of reach of children and pets during the bag-making process. Work in a dedicated, secure area. Store all unused hardware in sealed containers or bags, clearly labelled and out of reach of children and vulnerable individuals. hen designing and assembling bags, ensure that all hardware is securely attached and unlikely to detach under normal and reasonably foreseeable use. Consider using methods that make detachment difficult (e.g. strong rivets, reinforced stitching, permanent setting). Include prominent warnings on packaging and instructions regarding the choking hazard, especially for items not intended for children's products.

- Sharp Edges or Points
Some hardware, if broken, may have sharp edges or points that could cause cuts or punctures. Exercise caution when handling hardware. Consider wearing gloves, especially when dealing with large quantities or during assembly that requires force (e.g., setting rivets). Ensure all sharp components (like rivet backs) are fully enclosed or dulled once set into the bag material. Before and after assembly, inspect hardware for any sharp edges or defects. Discard any defective parts safely.

- Ingestion/Internal Injury
While primarily a choking hazard, ingested small metal parts could potentially cause internal injury or blockages. The mitigation strategies for choking hazards also apply here, emphasizing prevention of ingestion. In case of accidental ingestion, seek immediate medical attention.

- Allergic Reactions
Our plastic hardware could cause allergic skin reactions in sensitive individuals. If you have an allergy to plastic, we recommend avoiding the use of our plastic hardware.

- Functional Failure / Detachment
If hardware is not correctly chosen for the intended load or is improperly attached, it may fail or detach, potentially leading to the bag breaking or contents spilling, which could cause minor injury or damage. Our hardware is not strength tested and is only intended for use on general use bags. It is not suitable for use on other projects. Select hardware appropriate for the weight and stress it will endure. For example, larger D-rings and thicker swivel hooks for heavy-duty bags. Follow the instructions for use of each individual piece of hardware. These instructions can be found on the product page of the website. Regularly inspect finished bags for signs of wear, loosening hardware, or damage. Replace or repair as needed.

- Dangers to Children
Small hardware presents a significant danger to children, particularly those under three years old, due to the choking hazard posed by small parts. Even for older children, there is a risk of ingestion or injury from sharp edges if the hardware detaches from a bag. Never allow children to play with loose small hardware. Products made with this hardware should be kept out of reach of young children. Our hardware has not been tested for use on products involving children. Our products are often packaged in plastic bags to protect them during transit. Plastic bags pose a suffocation risk and should be kept our of reach of children at all times.

- Prohibited Uses
This small hardware should NOT be used for: Toys or children's products (especially for children under 3 years old). Safety-critical applications where failure of the hardware could lead to serious injury or death (e.g., climbing equipment, personal protective equipment). Oral contact or ingestion. Direct skin contact for prolonged periods if not confirmed to be nickel-free or hypoallergenic, especially for individuals with sensitivities. Applications where extreme temperatures or corrosive environments could compromise the integrity of the metal.

- Packaging:
We often package fabrics in plastic bags to keep them dry and clean during transit. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep plastic bags away from children and babies.

- Legal Notice:
This hardware is provided “as is” without warranties or guarantees of suitability for any particular purpose.
