Teloujay 1 (Original) – PDF Sewing Pattern

This little cross-body is designed to be an everyday bag with room to fit your wallet, sunglasses, keys & phone. It features an exterior slip pocket as well as 6 card slots in an interior zip pocket. The pattern has two size options: the tall and the small.

There are no raw edges in the pattern so you can use cotton, cork or vinyl, provided your machine can manage it. There is no binding used in this pattern and the lining is turned, not dropped in.

Materials required (for either size):

  • 1/2yd Exterior fabric (44″ width)
  • 1/4yd Feature fabric (44″ width)
  • 3/4yd Lining fabric (44″ width)
  • 1 1/4yd Medium woven interfacing – SF101/Wovenfuse/G700 (35″ width)
  • 1/2yd Sew-in foam – Bosal/Annie’s S&S/Style-Vil (35″)
  • 7″ No.3 zip (9″ if using zipper tape)
  • 2 x 1″ Swivel clasps
  • 2 x 1″ D-rings
  • 1 x 1″ Strap slider
  • 1 x 18mm Magnetic snap
  • 8 x 3/8″ or 8mm Rivets
  • 1 x Half-moon magnetic snap (optional)

    Great design. Love the idea of being able to play with so many different fabrics, Only thing I struggled with was topstitching the final layer, was tricky, but overall loved the challenge of putting this together. This makes for a great gift.

    Very please with this make so much so that tge following dai i made another. My domestic machine struggled with the final topstitching over the seams due to bulk there and jumped a couple of stitches, so I handsewed a decorative ribbon over birds nest stitches on the lining side (outer of bag was fine!) . Found YouTube tutorials a great help as a sew-along.

    Wonderful pattern and the perfect size! I used cork on the upper panel and quilt batik on the lower panel. Waterproof canvas lining saved me some time with interfacing, too. I will be making more for sure.
