High quality no.5 size zip tape. No.5 size zip tape features 5mm wide zip teeth. Nylon zip tape is ideal for bag making. Unlike metal zippers, nylon teeth are easy to sew over without breaking needles. This zip tape has “metal look” teeth, giving it a more luxurious look. Buying by the metre is a great way to ensure you only have to cut what you need, when you need it, with minimal waste. When required, you can fit zip pulls from both ends of the tape which makes it ideal for double zip projects such as backpacks.

Zip pulls, webbing, hardware or completed bags may be included in some photos for illustrative purposes, but are sold separately.

RETURNS
NOT HAPPY WITH SOMETHING?
It’s important to us that you’re happy with your purchase, but if for any reason you’re not happy with your products simply email us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com within 14 days of receiving your package and request a return. Or you can send us a Whatsapp message +447518142548. This is your “right of withdrawal”. Items must be returned at your expense, within 30 days of receipt for a full refund. We recommend that you obtain proof of postage or tracking when returning your items as we can’t guarantee receipt of your order.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. The simplest way to provide this is to reply to the original order confirmation email. To qualify for a refund, your products must be returned unused and in a re-saleable condition. Once we’ve inspected the returned items, we’ll refund you within 14 days. The refund will be processed to the same payment source used for purchase. In certain circumstances, we will only grant a partial refund. This includes where any item is not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error, or any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.

When you cancel or return your order, we incur costs that are not refunded to us such as payment processing fees and postage costs. As a small business, these costs negatively impact us so please check measurements and read product details thoroughly before purchasing. If you have any questions before ordering, feel free to send us an email.

If you haven’t received a refund when expected, we recommend contacting your bank or credit card provider. Please bear in mind, it can take several days for your bank to process the refund and show it in your account.
If you’ve done this and you still have not received your refund 7 working days after you were notified of your refund, please contact us.

DAMAGED, FAULTY OR MISSING ITEMS?
If you think you’ve received an item that’s damaged, faulty, or otherwise incorrect, please contact us straight away by emailing us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com with a photo and description of the fault. We will get back to you within 48 hours to resolve the issue (usually quicker).

If we’ve sent you the wrong item, we’ll let you keep it at no cost, and we'll also send you the correct item.

If you believe an item is missing, please check the packaging thoroughly and unpack your entire order. We like to do our bit to help the planet and that means reducing packaging and space. To achieve this, we often roll items within each other. For example, if you’ve ordered 2 x 1 metre cuts of zip tape and 1 metre of webbing, we’ll roll them together in one bag. If your order is completely unpacked and you’re certain an item is missing, please email us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com.

IMPORTANT PRODUCT SAFETY INFORMATION

Product Name: Nylon Continuous Zip Tape (also known as Nylon Coil Zipper Chain, Zipper by the Yard/Meter)
Intended Use: For use in textile and crafting applications to create custom-length zippers when paired with appropriate zipper sliders. Common applications include bags, pouches, apparel, home decor.
Target User: Adult consumers of all skill levels, from hobbyists to professional crafters and manufacturers.
Product Description: A flexible tape, typically made of woven polyester, with continuously formed nylon coil teeth along one edge, designed to interlock with a corresponding tape via a zipper slider (sold separately). Available in various coil sizes.

-----------------------------------------------------

HAZARDS: Nylon continuous zip tape, while generally low risk, can present certain hazards, particularly when being cut, sewn, or if improperly handled. This product is designed to be safe under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use. Risks are primarily physical in nature, related to its construction and the process of custom zipper creation.

- Sharp Edges (Cut Tape): The raw, cut ends of the zip tape, especially the tape material itself, can be sharp or frayed, potentially causing minor cuts or abrasions during handling. In case of accidental injury (Minor Cuts/Abrasions): Clean the Wound: Wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and warm water. Disinfect: Apply an antiseptic solution or wipe. Cover: Cover with a clean bandage if necessary. Monitor: Watch for signs of infection (redness, swelling, increased pain, pus). Seek medical attention if infection occurs.

- Choking Hazard (Small Parts - Zipper Teeth/Tape Fragments): Small fragments of the nylon coil teeth or small pieces of cut tape could detach, particularly if the tape is cut improperly or subjected to excessive force. These small parts pose a choking hazard if ingested by young children or pets. If a small part (e.g., zipper tooth) is ingested by a child or pet, and choking is occurring or suspected, seek immediate emergency medical attention. If ingestion is suspected but no immediate distress, monitor for symptoms and consult a medical professional for advice.
- Entanglement Hazard (Loose Threads/Tape): Loose threads from the tape edges, especially after cutting, could potentially entangle in sewing machine mechanisms if not trimmed or finished properly, leading to machine damage or operational hazards (e.g., needle breakage).

- Material Allergies/Sensitization: While rare, some individuals may have sensitivities or allergic reactions to the nylon (polyamide) material or the dyes used in the zip tape. This could manifest as skin irritation upon prolonged contact. (Note: Nylon is generally considered a low-allergen material). Allergic Reaction/Skin Irritation: Discontinue contact with the product. Wash the affected skin thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists or worsens, consult a medical professional.

- Colour Fastness/Dye Transfer: Under certain conditions (e.g., exposure to moisture, high temperatures, or specific chemicals/solvents), dyes used in the zip tape may bleed or transfer to adjacent fabrics, potentially causing staining. While not a direct safety hazard, it impacts product integrity and consumer satisfaction.

- Melting/Burns (Molten Material): Nylon is a thermoplastic and will melt when exposed to high heat (e.g., from a hot iron, heat gun, or open flame). Contact with molten material can cause severe thermal burns. Burning nylon can also produce irritating or hazardous fumes. Thermal burns. Cool Immediately: Cool the burn rapidly with cool (not cold or ice) running water for at least 10-20 minutes. Do NOT Remove Molten Material: Do not attempt to peel off any molten nylon stuck to the skin, as this can cause further tissue damage. Seek Medical Attention: For any thermal burn, especially if severe or covering a large area, seek immediate medical attention.

-----------------------------------------------------
To ensure the safe use of nylon continuous zip tape and minimize associated risks, adhere to the following recommendations:
- Store Safely: Keep zip tape rolls in a designated, organized storage area, away from direct heat sources and out of reach of young children and pets.
- Sharp Tools: Use sharp fabric scissors or rotary cutters for clean cuts. Be mindful of finger placement when cutting.
- Trim Edges: After cutting, trim any loose threads or frayed edges from the tape to prevent entanglement during sewing.
- Small Parts Awareness: When cutting, be aware of any small fragments of zipper teeth or tape that might detach. Dispose of these immediately and safely.
- Ventilation: If cutting or sewing large quantities of nylon products, ensure adequate ventilation, although typical use does not generate significant fumes.

-----------------------------------------------------

During Application (Sewing/Crafting):
- Correct Zipper Sliders: Always use zipper sliders specifically designed for nylon coil zippers of the correct size (e.g., #3, #5). Forcing an incompatible slider can damage the tape and create sharp fragments.
- Slider Installation: Follow instructions carefully when installing zipper sliders to continuous tape. Using a zipper jig or specific tools can make this process easier and safer, reducing the risk of finger injury or tape damage.
- Secure Ends: Ensure the ends of the zip tape are properly secured (e.g., by sewing over the coil, using zipper stops, or incorporating into seams) to prevent the slider from coming off and to minimize fraying.
- Sewing Machine Safety: Adhere to general sewing machine safety guidelines, including keeping fingers clear of the needle, powering off for adjustments, and replacing dull or bent needles.
- Heat Application (e.g., Ironing): Use a low to medium heat setting when ironing zip tape. Always use a pressing cloth between the iron and the zip tape to prevent melting or scorching. Avoid direct contact of hot irons with the nylon coil teeth.
- Dye Fastness Testing: If concerned about dye transfer, especially with light-coloured or sensitive fabrics, perform a patch test on an inconspicuous area before full application.

-----------------------------------------------------

Post-Use and Disposal:
- Dispose of Scraps Safely: Dispose of small zip tape scraps and any detached zipper teeth in a secure container, out of reach of children and pets.
- Product Longevity: Proper application and care (e.g. appropriate washing, avoiding harsh chemicals) will extend the life of the zipper and reduce the likelihood of mechanical failure that could create small parts.
