RETURNS
NOT HAPPY WITH SOMETHING?
It’s important to us that you’re happy with your purchase, but if for any reason you’re not happy with your products simply email us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com within 14 days of receiving your package and request a return. Or you can send us a Whatsapp message +447518142548. This is your “right of withdrawal”. Items must be returned at your expense, within 30 days of receipt for a full refund. We recommend that you obtain proof of postage or tracking when returning your items as we can’t guarantee receipt of your order.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. The simplest way to provide this is to reply to the original order confirmation email. To qualify for a refund, your products must be returned unused and in a re-saleable condition. Once we’ve inspected the returned items, we’ll refund you within 14 days. The refund will be processed to the same payment source used for purchase. In certain circumstances, we will only grant a partial refund. This includes where any item is not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error, or any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.
When you cancel or return your order, we incur costs that are not refunded to us such as payment processing fees and postage costs. As a small business, these costs negatively impact us so please check measurements and read product details thoroughly before purchasing. If you have any questions before ordering, feel free to send us an email.
If you haven’t received a refund when expected, we recommend contacting your bank or credit card provider. Please bear in mind, it can take several days for your bank to process the refund and show it in your account.
If you’ve done this and you still have not received your refund 7 working days after you were notified of your refund, please contact us.
DAMAGED, FAULTY OR MISSING ITEMS?
If you think you’ve received an item that’s damaged, faulty, or otherwise incorrect, please contact us straight away by emailing us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com with a photo and description of the fault. We will get back to you within 48 hours to resolve the issue (usually quicker).
If we’ve sent you the wrong item, we’ll let you keep it at no cost, and we'll also send you the correct item.
If you believe an item is missing, please check the packaging thoroughly and unpack your entire order. We like to do our bit to help the planet and that means reducing packaging and space. To achieve this, we often roll items within each other. For example, if you’ve ordered 2 x 1 metre cuts of zip tape and 1 metre of webbing, we’ll roll them together in one bag. If your order is completely unpacked and you’re certain an item is missing, please email us at shop@countrycowdesigns.com.

IMPORTANT PRODUCT SAFETY INFORMATION:
Product: Sewing Needles
Manufacturer: Hemline
Intended Use: For use in domestic sewing machines or for hand sewing, for the purpose of joining fabrics and other materials with thread.
Target User: Adults of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced sewers.
Product Description: Small, pointed metal instruments, typically made of steel, with an eye for threading. Available in various sizes and point types for different fabrics and sewing applications.
------------------------------------------------------------
Hazard: Sewing needles are sharp objects and, while safe when used as intended, present certain inherent physical risks. This product is designed to be safe under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, presenting only minimum risks compatible with its function as a sewing tool. Risks are primarily physical in nature due to the sharp point and potential for breakage.
- Puncture Wounds/Cuts: The sharp point of the needle can cause accidental pricks or cuts to fingers, hands, or other body parts during handling, threading, machine operation, or general use. This can lead to pain, bleeding, and potential infection.
- Needle Breakage & Flying Fragments: Needles can break due to:
- Striking pins, zippers, or hard objects.
- Incorrect needle size/type for fabric.
- Pulling/forcing fabric through machine.
- Worn, bent, or dull needles.
- Machine malfunction or incorrect threading/tension.
Broken needle fragments can become projectiles, posing a risk of eye injury or embedding in skin/fabric.
- Ingestion/Choking Hazard (especially for children/pets): Small size makes needles a potential choking hazard if ingested. If swallowed, they can cause internal injuries or require medical intervention. Always store sewing needles out of reach of children, vulnerable adults, and pets.
- Wound Infection: Puncture wounds, if not properly cleaned and cared for, can become infected by bacteria from the skin or environment, leading to redness, swelling, pain, pus, and in severe cases, systemic infection (e.g., tetanus if vaccination is not up to date).
- Entanglement/Machine Damage: Incorrect needle insertion, bent needles, or using inappropriate needles can cause damage to the sewing machine (e.g., bobbin case, hook mechanism) or cause thread entanglement, leading to operational issues and potential further hazards.
-------------------------------------------------------------
To ensure the safe use of sewing needles and minimize associated risks, adhere to the following recommendations:
Handle with Care: Always handle needles with caution, recognizing their sharp nature.
Proper Storage: Store needles safely in a pincushion, needle case, or a secure, lidded container. Keep them out of reach of children and pets at all times.
Never Hold in Mouth: Do not hold needles (or pins) in your mouth, as this poses a severe choking or ingestion hazard.
Clear Workspace: Maintain a clear, well-lit, and organized sewing area to prevent accidental contact with needles.
------------------------------------------------------------
During Machine Sewing:
Read Machine Manual: Familiarize yourself with your sewing machine's manual, especially sections on needle installation, replacement, and safety features.
Power Off: ALWAYS turn off and unplug the sewing machine before changing needles, presser feet, or performing any maintenance or adjustments.
Correct Needle Selection: Use the appropriate needle type and size for your fabric and thread. Refer to the needle packaging or manufacturer's guidelines. An incorrect needle can lead to breakage.
Proper Installation: Ensure the needle is correctly inserted into the machine's needle clamp and tightened securely. A loose needle can cause damage or injury.
Keep Fingers Clear: Keep fingers well clear of the needle area while the machine is operating. Use a seam ripper or similar tool (not your fingers) to guide fabric close to the needle if necessary.
Avoid Sewing Over Pins: Remove pins from fabric before sewing over them to prevent needle breakage and machine damage.
Replace Worn Needles: Change needles regularly (e.g., after 8-10 hours of sewing or at the start of a new project, or sooner if sewing heavy/dense fabrics). A dull or bent needle is more likely to break.
Slow Down: Operate the sewing machine at a speed that allows you to maintain control and react quickly if an issue arises.
Eye Protection: Consider wearing safety glasses or spectacles, especially if you have experienced needle breakage or are working with materials that might cause needle deflection.
------------------------------------------------------------
During Hand Sewing:
Thimble Use: Use a thimble on your pushing finger to protect it from accidental needle pricks.
Needle Threader: Use a needle threader to avoid finger pricks when threading small needle eyes.
Secure Fabric: If possible, use an embroidery hoop or other means to stabilize fabric, making it easier to control the needle.
------------------------------------------------------------
Post-Use and Disposal:
Account for All Needles: After each sewing session, ensure all needles are accounted for and stored safely.
Safe Disposal of Broken/Dull Needles: Do not dispose of needles directly into household waste where they could pose a risk. Place broken or dull needles in a rigid, puncture-proof container (e.g., a dedicated "sharps" container, a thick plastic bottle, or a metal tin) before disposing of them with general waste, following local waste disposal guidelines.
Clean Up: Immediately pick up any dropped needles or pins. A magnet can be helpful for locating fallen metal objects.
------------------------------------------------------------
In case of accidental injury:
Puncture Wound/Cut: Seek medical attention. Immediately wash the injured area thoroughly with soap and warm water. Apply Pressure: If bleeding, apply gentle, direct pressure with a clean cloth or sterile gauze until bleeding stops. Disinfect: Apply an antiseptic solution or wipe to the wound. Cover: Cover the wound with a clean bandage. Monitor for Infection: Watch for signs of infection (redness, swelling, increased pain, pus, fever). If any signs appear or if the wound is deep, consult a medical professional. Tetanus: Ensure your tetanus vaccination is up to date.
Needle Fragment Embedded: Do NOT try to remove if deep: If a needle fragment is deeply embedded in the skin, or if it has entered the eye, seek immediate medical attention. Do not attempt to remove it yourself, as this can cause further injury or push it deeper. Surface Splinter: If only a small splinter is at the surface, it may be carefully removed with clean tweezers. Clean the area before and after removal.
Ingestion: If a needle is suspected to have been ingested, seek immediate medical attention.
