The Vekza is my first pattern to include binding. Why? Because binding is the perfect way to get gorgeous curves on the exterior of your bag. Someone described it to me as acting like a skeleton to provide the bag with good structure. It’s a great new skill to learn so don’t be put off if it’s your first time. This sophisticated bowler bag features a curved front zip pocket and inside it has a zip and slip pocket. It has rolled handles and a lovely shape. Overall the pattern isn’t too complex, you just need to take your time and follow the tips to getting a great curve on that front zip pocket – that’s what makes in an intermediate pattern.

Another great design. I would love to add a photo of the gorgeous bag I made but I can’t figure out how to do it. Anyway, when I carry this bag I get loads of compliments. 6. Kaitlin Tourout

I bought this pattern as soon as it was released but it took me months to get up the courage to make it.. I’m not sure why, because the instructions are well written in the video is great as well! In the end, you are left with a beautiful bag!

This is a fantastic pattern. Among the best I’ve ever used. Clearly written with a photo to accompany every step. It almost guarantees success. And Jo’s video is terrific. Also very clear & well done. And the bag is gorgeous.

Even though this pattern is a little above my expertise in the bag making world, I live how well written the pattern was. In the instructions, in each section of assembling the pieces, Jo tells you what pieces to have in front of you. This makes it a lot less confusing than trying to find the right piece amount so many pieces. Even though there are tutorials on this bag, I personally like to sew from the written instructions. I haven’t quite finished the bag as I am at the point of starting the binding. I’ll be sure to post a photo when I am done.

  16. Sara

I loved making this bag! The pattern was straight forward and well written instructions. My only issue is with the binding…. but that is because I am just not proficient with it…. I do more birthed bags…. I know there is the option to birth this bag…. but I gotta practice harder techniques like binding….. so thank you for writing a great pattern…. and inspiring me to get better with my sewing….and binding!

  17. Vicki G Major

    I haven’t printed it yet.

I am so amazed by this pattern. I made a great bag on the first try. I love it! It looks like I bought it. I love that I could do this level of greatness on my sewing machine (Brother Project Runway XR9500). The bag is so sturdy. I love it!
