This mini backpack is great for kids and adults alike. It has NO binding and NO drop-in lining. It’s turned through the lining and sewn up through the zipper pocket to give a neat finish to the lining. The exterior features a slip pocket and zipped pocket with a flap for extra security. Inside is a small zipper pocket. Details are included to reduce and reposition the straps for adults and children.

It has two style options for the top of the bag: a boxy finish or a rounded finish. You can also choose a plain or cargo front pocket. There are no raw edges in the pattern so you can use cotton, cork or vinyl, provided your machine can manage it.

Just finished making this and I love it. When I cut it out, I thought “oh no, its smaller than I had imagined!” BUT… it isn’t at all. Once complete , this is an ideal, roomy little backpack fitting in all my essentials without the need of a big bulky bag. Made mine in a waterproof canvas (which saves time and money on interfacing) and my domestic sewing machine sewed it well. Mainly used the written instructions for this one but I did watch the video as well in places just to make sure I was doing it all right! This is my 4th of Jo’s patterns and all are well executed and put together. Will eventually make another one of these in cotton canvas as a gift. But for now, I’m off for a walk with my super new Trekoda backpack!

I bought this pattern a few months ago and I still love every time I start a new backpack.. Easy and beautiful pattern. ❤️

A great backpack with no binding. I made it with a leather skirt. As with all of Jo’s patterns the instructions are very clear and it was straightforward to sew on my domestic machine.

This was my first attempt at an intermediate pattern but with the help of the video and instructions I made two with no problems. I made them last summer for my great grandchildren and they are still using them. A great pattern. Thank you Jo.

I have purchased all country Cow patterns, not at the same time, but when you first get started, it’s hard not to get them all. The designs are astonishing, the patterns fantasticly made. Love them all

Best bag pattern I have downloaded so far . Clear comprehensive instructions and the pattern pieces are perfect fit when bag assembled . Thank you I will definitely try another pattern from Country Cow Designs . I used really quite fine cotton bag and bag still has structure can’t wait to try making in heavier fabric may be adding some cork .

At first i thought £7.50 was quite an expense for a downloadable pattern. However it was easy to download and printed off accurately, no messing about trying to adjust sizing. The 2″ test square was spot on. Next i noticed hiw very detailed the materials needed were along with helpful suggestions of possible alternatives yoy may have in your stash. I was amazed at how detailed each instruction was complete with a colour photo. Each tiny steo is written and easily understood. I have watched thd YouTube vidti which runs alongside the instructions and that too, is is brilliant… not too fast and vlear to inderstand what is happening and what is said and meant. As yet i have mot had chance to make the actual back pack bug i don’t feel too intimidated because i know i have a great pattern/instructions and video to follow. Apologies for any typos..i cant scroll back to check on my phone.

This is one of the best patterns I have ever made…and I’ve made quite a few. It’s a great size and very well designed. I’ve made three of them in vinyl and cotton mixes and they all sewed up really well. There are a couple videos on youtube to help see it going together but the pattern is also well written. It is a comfortable bag to carry and can easily be made into a “convertible” crossbody/backpack. I highly recommend this pattern!
