If you\u2019re looking to create a bag with a unique look then you should definitely consider upcycling denim jeans for your bag making. It\u2019s practically free and you will end up with a bag that is unique to you. But before you go cutting up your favourite Levi’s, here are some helpful tips.<\/p>\n

Choose the right pair of jeans<\/h2>\n

Denim can be very different depending on the manufacturer and style of jeans. For example, I avoid using stretchy jeans as this denim will be a pain to sew with. I also stick to jeans that don\u2019t have the \u201cdesigner\u201d rips and tears in them. You won\u2019t be able to use all parts of the jeans so these parts will reduce your options further. Men\u2019s jeans are generally bigger and since most men tend to wear their jeans to destruction, this will be a good use of upcycling old denim. I used an old pair of jeans to make the Daythum Sling<\/a> and I was able to retain the rear pocket.<\/p>\n
